A short history
(lifted pretty much straight from Alphabeat's MySpace page):
- Alphabeat formed in Summer 2002
- Spring 2005: Signed a Danish record deal with Copenhagen Records
- March 2007: Released self-titled Danish debut
- March-October 2007 Danish tour
- October 2007: Moved to the UK and started to re-record old songs and record new for the UK debut
- November 2007-February 2008: Toured UK
- April and May 2008: Headlined the 'Wonky Pop' tour in the UK.
- June 2008: Released the international debut album "This is Alphabeat"
- Summer 2008: Touring
- October 2008: Played their first European tour
- October and November 2008: Played a completely sold out UK tour!
- December 17th 2008: Finished the final part of their 2008 touring ... more than 160 live gigs in a year!
- February 2009: Signed a new contract with Polydor UK
- So far 2009 has been all about writing, recording and producing the next album
- October 2009: New single 'The Spell' die for release 12th October; new album 'The Spell' due for release 19th October.
